Copenhagen & Faroe Islands

Copenhagen & the Faroe Islands

Faroe Islands ? Yes why not.

Inspired by a documentary which I saw a few years ago on BBC and a scandi noir thriller
aired late last year on BBC 4 which took place on these little islands. The latter refreshed
my memory and the decision was quickly made.

When I mentioned my plan to my friend Friederike in Austria she was intrigued as well
and asked if I need a travel companion. Why not and it's always much nicer to have
somebody to share ones impression with.

But how does one get to these remote islands ? The easy way is flying but there is a more
relaxing way:

We meet up in Copenhagen where we will be staying for a few days
Catch a train from Copenhagen to Hirthals in the far north of Denmark.

In Hirthals, after an overnight stay, we are catching a ferry
which will bring us in about two days to Torshavn, the biggest town on the islands.

and a car have been rented, so we are very flexible exploring the islands.
